NAGAON: On the occasion of India's 75 years of independence, Bank of Maharashtra, Nagaon branch, distributed cheques of Rs 88 lakhs among 68 women self-help groups in the district with a view to empower women in the society on Thursday. At a function held at Nagaon Sangskritik Prakalpa auditorium, the bank officials from the concerned branch office ceremonially distributed all those cheques among those beneficiary women self-help groups. EDAB, Bijoy Kumar, Bank of Maharashtra graced the occasion as chief guest. Bank officials from the branch office bank manager Sanjay Rudra, Dilip Ralu and other were present during the distribution programme, a release added.
