Cheques distributed under AMFIRS 2021 to beneficiaries in Biswanath

The official distribution of cheques among 3,099 beneficiaries under the Assam Microfinance Incentive and Relief Scheme, 2021 was formally inaugurated in the Biswanath district

BISWANATH CHARIALI: The official distribution of cheques among 3,099 beneficiaries under the Assam Microfinance Incentive and Relief Scheme, 2021 was formally inaugurated in the Biswanath district on Sunday by the Minister for Water Resources, Information and Public Relations, Government of Assam, Pijush Hazarika at the distribution ceremony held at the auditorium of Biswanath College under the initiative of Finance Department, Government of Assam, and Biswanath District Administration. He handed over the symbolic cheques to 11 selected beneficiaries. Steps have been taken to provide cheques to the remaining beneficiaries in the district through the Deputy Commissioner's office, concerned Circle Officer's office and the Block Development Officer's office.

Earlier, minister Hazarika lit the earthen lamp at the beginning of the programme, while Deputy Commissioner of Biswanath, Munindra Nath Ngatey delivered the welcome address. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Hazarika specially thanked Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for the ground-breaking schemes taken towards women empowerment.

A total of 117 landless families of the tea tribe community of Diring Pathar area in Biswanath district were also formally distributed land pattas on the same occasion. MP Pallab Lochan Das, MLAs Ranjit Dutta and Utpal Bora, Superintendent of Police Nabin Singh, among others were present on the occasion.
