Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurates new SBI branch at Sarthebari in Barpeta

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday visited Krishnaguru Sewashram, Nashatra at Sarthebari in Barpeta district to pay his obeisance to the spiritual guru on his 85th birth anniversary. Chief Minister Sonowal also inaugurated a new branch of State Bank of India at Nashatra premises to mark the occasion, stated a press release.

Chief Minister Sonowal while speaking on the occasion expressed hope that the new SBI branch would significantly help the local people in financial transactions. He also said that opening of the new SBI branch in the area would lead to greater financial inclusion which would also help the people of the area to directly receive the benefits of the schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Stating that Krishnaguru’s teachings of peace and harmony have reached far and wide, Chief Minister Sonowal urged upon the people to follow the teachings of the spiritual guru and work with dedication for building a spiritually and intellectually robust society.

Chief Minister Sonowal also called upon the youth to study seriously to acquire knowledge. Stating that knowledge is power, Sonowal said that the students must imbibe spiritual and moral teachings to lead a contented life and contribute to nation building. He also asked them to work for peace, harmony, brotherhood and social tranquility and follow the rich heritage of Indian civilization.
