Child Abuse Case: Accused Dr Waliul Islam To Appear In Court Again Today

The Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court prolonged Waliul Islam's police custody by an additional 5 days on May 10.

GUWAHATI: On Monday, Doctor Waliul Islam, one of the defendants in the Guwahati child abuse case, will be brought before the court as his incarceration by the police comes to an end.

The Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court prolonged Waliul Islam's police custody by an additional 5 days on May 10. After his five days in police custody were up, the city police brought the accused Islam before the court.

In the meantime, horrifying allegations in the tragic child abuse case in Guwahati have surfaced. According to authorities, the case involving the accused pair Sangeeta Dutta and Waliul Islam included the identities of two ASHA employees.

On Saturday, Utpala Bose, the primary suspect Sangeeta Datta's personal assistant in the Guwahati child abuse case, was sentenced to five days in police custody. According to reports, Utpala was detained on Friday night. The medical pair Sangeeta Datta and Waliul Islam's children are thought to have been set up by her. According to sources, Utpala evaded capture for three days before turning herself in at the Panbazar Police Station.

Abhijit Bose, the journalist who was held by the police in connection with the case, is planning to pursue a defamation lawsuit against the police, adding even another twist to the story.He was related to Sangeeta Datta, the main suspect doctor, through his brother, who was also his personal assistant. According to sources, Abhijit had phone chats in which he offered his older sister security. For offering defence to the accused, he was detained in accordance with Section 120(B).

Abhijit Bose has disclosed details about the incident. He questioned the necessity of the police handcuffing him despite the fact that he had only been summoned in for regular questioning regarding the entire matter.

His name had appeared with the primary suspect, Dr. Sangeeta Datta, who is currently being questioned by authorities. According to information obtained, Dr. Sangeeta Datta's personal assistant Utpala Bose's brother is Abhijit Bose.

Abhijit Bose apparently revealed to media that Utpala Bose had spoken with Sangeeta Datta in 2019. Utpala Bose had previously worked for a company called "Cordlife," which conserved newborn newborns' umbilical cords.

Dr. Sangeeta Datta, the main defendant in the terrible child abuse case that shook the entire state, had her police custody extended earlier on Friday by the chief judicial magistrate (CJM) court in Guwahati.
