TINSUKIA: Due to alleged negligence of a contractor engaged by Jal Jeevan Mission, a 10-year boy-died at Sri Krishna Tea Estate in Tingrai under Digboi PS on Wednesday evening. According to reports, Deba Gowala (12), son of Sama Gowala died instantly after a huge iron gate constructed by Jal Jeevan Mission collapsed on him. The ATTSA activists along with tea garden workers blocked the NH 38 with the dead body of the boy for several hours till authorities intervened. The leaders accused the contractor of using poor quality of materials in the construction. The huge gate was erected without any support, they alleged while demanding arrest of the contractor besides suitable compensation to the family.
