Chirang Police recovers huge cache of arms and ammunitions

Chirang: Chirang district police conducted a pre-dawn search operation in the district and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition. The operation was initiated by an intelligence input, and led by Chirang additional superintendent of police (ASP) with a team of police officers. The search operation was conducted in two separate locations under the Runikhata police station of Chirang district.

"During the search operations in Ranipur and Amlaiguri, police recovered arms and ammunition", a police official said. He also said that one AK series rifle and two magazines, 50 rounds of live ammunition of 7.62 mm pistol and one pen pistol was recovered from the first operation in Ranipur.

The second operation in Amlaiguri led to the recovery of one 9mm carbine with magazines, seven 9 mm pistols with magazines, two Chinese hand grenades and 25 rounds of live ammunition.
