Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma will distribute appointment letters to 342 newly recruited lecturers for government polytechnic institutes across the state at a ceremony scheduled at the GMCH auditorium in Guwahati today.
This recruitment includes lecturers for both technical and non-technical subjects and is part of a broader push by the state government to enhance the quality of technical education. The candidates were selected through a transparent, merit-based process, underscoring the government’s commitment to fair and efficient hiring practices.
The Chief Minister has consistently highlighted the importance of a robust educational system, particularly in technical education, as a key driver for skill development and employment creation in Assam. This initiative is expected to not only improve academic standards in polytechnic colleges but also provide greater employment opportunities to qualified youth.
According to education department officials, the appointed lecturers will soon assume their roles in various government-run polytechnic institutions across Assam.
