Golaghat: A convergence meeting on ‘Poshan maah’ involving various line departments was held at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Tuesday to discuss the various activities that are being carried out in the district as part of the Rashtriya Poshan Maah.
The month of September is being observed as Rashtriya Poshan Maah as part of Poshan Abhiyaan flagship programme all over the country with the theme ‘Har Ghar Poshan Tyohaar’. It aims to address the issue of malnutrition and improve the nutritional outcomes for children, adolescents, pregnant women and lactating mothers through a targeted approach and convergence.
Chairing the meeting, Addl Deputy Commissioner Orpah Baglary said the active participation of various stakeholders and convergence of similar schemes related to nutrition is the need of the hour which will go a long way in addressing the issue of malnutrition plaguing the country.
