NAMRUP: The outbreak of COVID-19 at Namrup has created a deep sense of fear among the locals as 8 positive cases were detected on Wednesday in the commercial hub of the town and its adjoining areas. The Namrup daily market witnessed a sudden spike of five positive cases and it has been declared a containment zone. Also, all commercial establishments will remain closed after 12 noon. Although no official lockdown has been called by the authorities concerned, the Chamber of Commerce, Namrup has decided to shut all the commercial establishments in order to curb the COVID-19 outbreak.
