COVID-19 outbreak: New containment zone declared in Dhekiajuli

TEZPUR: In view of the detection of COVID-19 positive patient Pranati Das (50) of village Lahabari, Dhekiajuli mouza under Dhekiajuli PS and in order to contain the further spread of coronavirus in the area consisting of Lahabari Bangali Gaon, the Sonitpur district administration has declared the area as containment zone w.e.f. 4pm of Thursday and the area has been sealed by the administration. The containment zone is surrounded by Lahabari Ananda Chowk to the north, Lahabari Asomiya Chowk to the east, Mazbat Gaon to the west and Muslim Suburi to the South.

There will be a buffer zone of radius 5 km around the containment zone. Any unauthorized entry and exit to and from the notified containment zone is barred till the area is declared safe as per guidelines of the MoHFW, Government of India. Any movement of any unauthorized individual and vehicle within the notified area is also prohibited. All statutory and other directions regarding maintenance of social distancing will be strictly enforced with immediate effect. Any violation of the order will attract action under provisions of the Assam COVID-19 Regulation, 2020, the Disaster Management Act 2005, the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and other relevant laws of the nation.
