LAKHIMPUR: The Chutia Yuva Sanmilan, Asom has expressed strong reaction over the inception of a new Chutia community organization with almost the same name on February 28. The Chutia Yuva Sanmilan, Asom has demanded the newly-constituted organization to change its name immediately.

Notably, the new organization called the Chutia Jati Yuva Sanmilan, Asom was constituted on February 28 at Juvadol in Sivsagar district under the auspices of Sodou Chutia Jati Sanmilan, Asom.

In this connection, convening a press meet at the conference hall of the Rangabhumi Theatre in Dhakuakhana subdivision of Lakhimpur district, Chutia Yuva Sanmilan, Asom secretary Koustubh Kishor Chutia said, "Chutia Yuva Sanmilan, Asom has been rendering relentless services for the well-being and development of the Chutia community since its inception in 1944. Despite such circumstances, the constitution of the new organization with almost the same name under the auspices of the central committee of the Sodou Chutia Jati Sanmilan, Asom, in an event chaired by its working president Prafulla Medhi, has confused the people. Moreover, it will create a deluding environment in the State regarding the stand and activities of the both organizations in future. So, the new organization should change its name very soon and we have demanded it."

The press meet was also attended by State executive member, Harichandra Chutia, Dhemaji district unit president Tridib Das and general secretary Manah Pratim Chutia.
