DEMOW: The Demow Branch Lekhika Sanstha’s third foundation day was organized at 120 No. Dehajan Kuchiyamari Primary School recently. The flag was hoisted by Padma Lahon Chetia, president of Demow Branch Lekhika Sanstha. The Smiti Tarpan was offered by Simarekha Konwar, working president of Demow Branch Lekhika Sanstha. The earthen lamps of the Golden Jayanti Year were lit by Dambarudhar Chetia, a social worker as well as retired teacher, and Hemlata Dowerah, Adviser, Demow Branch Lekhika Sanstha.

An open session and a speech programme were held which was presided over by Padma Lahon Chetia. Lakhima Phukan, secretary of Demow Branch Lekhika Sanstha, anchored the programme. ‘Swarnav,’ a Journal of Demow Branch Lekhika Sanstha, was released by Mridula Sarma, president of Golden Jayanti Organizing Committee Lekhika Sanstha Assam.

A special felicitation programme was organized where Prathama Bharali, a student of Demow Adarsha Jatiya Vidyalaya, who secured the highest marks in Assamese subject (94) in the HSLC Examination, was felicitated with a phulam gamosa, a citation, and a book.
