Deori community celebrates Magh Bihu at Demow

DEMOW, January 20:  Along with the rest of the State, in Sivasagar district at Demow, Kokilamari, Kotiyori and Borpathar gaon, the Deori community people celebrated Magh Bihu with pomp and gaiety. The people made mejis near Brahmaputra on Tuesday night. The youths of the village played various sport events and performed Bihu dance and songs in front of the meji. A community feast was arranged. The mejis were burnt by the people of the five villages in the early morning on Wednesday. On Wednesday, people offered prayers at the Bolia Baba temple at Tengapani.
