DOOMDOOMA: Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma officially launched on Saturday the equipment distribution programme for children with disabilities in five education sectors in Tinsukia district at the same time. A total of 75 children with disabilities in the district received these equipment. 11 children in Sadiya , 25 in Kakpather, 21 in Margherita, 18 children each in Hapjan and Urban Education Block received three wheelers, wheelchairs, cerebral palsy chairs, MSID kits.
The equipment were distributed by MLA of Digboi Constituency Suren Phukan at a joint meeting organized by Hapjan and Urban Education Block. MLA Suren Phukan urged the parents to take advantage of such schemes provided by the government to enable the children with disabilities to go forward in the field of education like other children. The equipment were distributed by Margherita Anchalik Panchayat President Sukhdev Sharma in Margherita Education Zone, Sadiya Town Committee oresident Bichandravati Sonwal in Sadiya Education Zone and Chelenguri Gaon Panchayat president Deepali Tanti in Kakpather Education Zone. The event was attended by District Planning Officers Linuma Gogoi and Tridib Sharma Tamuli. The event ended successfully with the cooperation of all the office bearers of the Comprehensive Education Cell.
