Doctors under COVID-19 attack in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR: COVID-19 cases among frontline healthcare professionals in Sivasagar have triggered sensation among residents here in Sivasagar as five doctors tested positive through Rapid Antigen Test. Among those who tested positive included Dr Prasanta Pratim Sharma, Dr Mrinmoy Baruah and his wife Dr Kastury Das, Dr Nirmalya Chowdhury and Dr Bastov Borgohain.

Dr Prasanta Pratim Sarmah, senior gynaecologist in Sivasagar Civil Hospital, had successfully performed a caesarean operation on a COVID-19 positive mother who delivered a healthy baby recently. Dr Mrinmoy Baruah was in-charge of the COVID-19 isolation wards in Civil Hospital and was one of the prominent warriors against COVID-19 here. Dr Nirmalya Chowdhury was in charge of the Urban COVID-19 centre in the town.
