GOLAGHAT: The Tai Ahom Yuba Parishad Asom (TAYPA) has announced that the “Shahid Kushal Konwar Award” for the year 2025 will be conferred upon Padma Shri awardee Dr. Jogendranath Phukan. The announcement was made during a press meet held in Golaghat on Sunday.
Speaking to the media, TAYPA Central Committee Joint Secretary Subham Konwar stated that Dr. Jogendranath Phukan, a distinguished researcher of Tai language and culture, has been chosen for the prestigious award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to literature, culture, and social work. Dr Phukan’s work has played a vital role in enriching Assam’s cultural heritage and in promoting the history and traditions of the Tai community.
