Assam Floods: Water Levels of Dehing, Desang Increase Due to Incessant Rains

Due to the incessant rains from the last few days, the water level of Dehing and Desang had increased. A sluice gate in the Demow river embankment connecting the Historic Dhaiali Samarajan has been water logged on Sunday evening.

DEMOW: Due to the incessant rains over the last few days, the water level of Dehing and Desang has increased. A sluice gate in the Demow river embankment connecting the Historic Dhaiali Samarajan has been waterlogged on Sunday evening. Due to this the Samarajan Halmari, Saragua Grant, Purasumani, Jiyamari, Palengi, Araltoli villages were inundated. The local people have informed the Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar district about the problem. On Monday, Aditya Vickram Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar district inspected the Dhaiali sluice gate and ordered the concerned department to repair the sluice gate soon. Later, the Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar district inspected the erosion which took place near Akhoiphutia bridge. The Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar district is frequently monitoring the erosion and ordered the PWD Department and Water Resources department to take measures.
