TANGLA: Along with the rest of the nation, Eid-ul-Adha also known as Eid-ul-Zuha, the festival symbolising sacrifice and devotion, was observed with traditional gaiety and solemnity across Udalguri district including in places like Rowta, Udalguri, Mazbat, Orang, Kalaigaon, Garuajhar, and Paneri Tangla on Saturday. In the special prayers, the faithful gathered at the Bara Masjid Eidgah Maidan and Banseria Eidgah Maidan in Tangla town to offer namaz. The faithful prayed for peace, prosperity, and communal harmony. Religious sermons were also delivered, emphasizing the values of sacrifice, compassion, and unity among communities. People dressed in traditional attire were seen embracing and exchanging warm greetings in the festive spirit. The members of the community also distributed sweets and shared food with the economically disadvantaged, upholding the values of generosity and charity central to the festival. People from both the Muslim and Hindu communities extended greetings to one another, reflecting the spirit of brotherhood and communal harmony.
