DIBRUGARH: Eight NSS volunteers from Dibrugarh University and its affiliated colleges have been chosen to attend the North East Youth Festival in Gangtok, Sikkim, from March 17-20, 2025. The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, and the NSS Regional Directorate, Guwahati, organized the festival to promote cultural exchange and youth empowerment in the Northeast.
The selected NSS volunteers for the North East Youth Festival are Ankuran Khound from DDR College, Dipu Kalita from Dibrugarh University, and Kunal Agarwal from Dibrugarh University, who will serve as the team leader. Other participants include Jonali Namasudra from Dibrugarh University, Ritumoni Keot from Dibru College, Kritika from DHSK Commerce College, Tsunami Dohotiya from DHSK Kanoi College, and Mridupawan Kachari from Dibrugarh University.
Kunal Agarwal will lead the team under the guidance of Devid Kardong, NSS Cell Program Coordinator, and Amar Upadhayaya, NSS PG Unit Program Officer, both from Dibrugarh University. This selection showcases Dibrugarh University’s dedication to youth engagement, leadership, and community service.
Meanwhile, earlier, Raju Basnett, Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Education, Law, and Parliamentary Affairs departments, Government of Sikkim, along with Yangchen D. Tamang, Secretary of Sports and Youth Affairs, and the officers of the department, called on Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay at his official residence, Mintokgang, on 10th March.
Raju Basnett and the team of officers extended an invitation and requested the Chief Minister for his esteemed presence at the 8th North East Youth Festival, 2025, which was scheduled to be held from 17th to 20th March, 2025.
