Emergency services begins at B Barooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati

Guwahati: Emergency services at the B Barooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati has begun from Friday, a day after a 16-year old girl was found positive after she died. The girl was living in the cancer institute's residential colony with her grandmother, a cleaning staff at the Cancer Institute.

The institute's services radiotherapy and chemotherapy would begin from May 11.

The staff quarters have been declared as containment zone.

"We now have limited number of health workers. So, we might not be able to take in OPD patients as of now," Amal Kataki, Director of the Institute said.

Currently, 87 patients are being treated in the hospital.
