NAGAON: The English version of Madhavdeva's Namghosha, translated by Dr Sanjib Kumar Borkakoti, has been displayed in the famous Frankfurt Book Fair. This book has been published by reputed publishers Motilal Banarasidass Publishing House, which is internationally renowned and was established way back in 1903.
Dr Borkakoti made the English translation in prose. He also prepared the original text of Namghosha, which have been added in Roman script, very carefully after comparing several versions of the scripture. He has already authored more than 60 books, out of which more than 40 books are on the life and contributions of Srimanta Sankaradeva. He has been conferred Sankari Sahitya Sanskriti award by Jorhat Xahitya Xabha for his effort to globalize the legacy of Srimanta Sankaradeva.
Dr Borkakoti has been trying to promote Borgeet along with Bihu as world heritage in the intagible cultural heritage category as an expert member of the International Committee of Intagible Cultural Heritage, sources added.
