Faculty training workshop on Indian Knowledge System held at Lumding College

A one-day faculty training workshop on Indian Knowledge System (IKS) was successfully organized at Lumding College on Sunday.

NAGAON: A one-day faculty training workshop on Indian Knowledge System (IKS) was successfully organized at Lumding College on Sunday.

The event was a collaborative initiative by the IKS Cell, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), and the Department of Botany, Lumding College, in association with the Siddhanta Knowledge Foundation, IKS Division under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Over 68 faculty members from various colleges and universities across Assam registered and actively participated in the workshop, making it a vibrant and intellectually engaging affair.

The workshop was chaired by Dr Anuradha Chaudhuri, Principal of Lumding College, along with Pradip Bahadur Chetri, IQAC Coordinator, Nirmalya Shekhar Singha Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Botany, and Dr Sanghamitra Das Bose, Head of the Department of Zoology.

The resource persons for the daylong training included prominent academicians and IKS master trainers recognised by Ministry of Education, Government of India, like Dr Manjit Kumar Mazumder, Associate Professor, Pragjyotish College, Dr Saurabh Pran Sarma, Associate Professor, Arya Vidyapeeth College, Dr Rantumoni Sarma, Assistant Professor, Lumding College, and Dr Abhishek Mazumder, Assistant Professor, Lumding College.

The sessions were highly interactive and insightful, with a focus on integrating the Indian Knowledge System into modern pedagogy and higher education curricula. Participants engaged in thoughtful discussions and hands-on activities aimed at exploring India’s rich intellectual traditions and their contemporary relevance.

The workshop concluded with positive feedback from attendees, who appreciated the initiative in promoting and preserving indigenous knowledge systems through academic platforms.
