Field engineers to play pivotal role for success of JJM: Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah

MORIGAON: Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah attended the 35th biennial conference of Assam Public Health Engineers Association (APHEA) held at Pobitora, Morigaon on Sunday.

The minister interacted with the field engineers of the department and also took note of the issues faced by them. Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah assured his cooperation towards their concerns and also asked them to take firm determination to ensure the success of Jal Jeevan Mission. He stated, "The field engineers will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the mission of supplying drinking water to each and every household."

The minister also stated that it is not an easy task to supply drinking water to each and every household but inspite of the challenges and concerns looming around the departmental officials need to work in war footing to achieve the desired target of ensuring water supply to every household. He also pointed out the concern that in few years Assam may also face drinking water crisis like other states, so adequate steps need to be taken now to deal with the drinking water crisis challenges in near future.

The minister also visited an exhibition displaying technical products used in Jal Jeevan Mission, Assam. AMD JJM Mridul Das, Chief Engineer (Water) PHED, Diganta Baruah, Chief Engineer (Sanitation) PHED, BM Roy and other senior engineers of the department were also present in the event.
