KOKRAJHAR: The Prime Minister's Internship Scheme (PMIS), North-East round table was organized on Thursday at the courtyard by Marriott, Shillong. The special interaction was graced by Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Government of India, along with Conrad K Sangma, Chief Minister of Meghalaya, and other dignitaries.

Sources from NTPC-Bongaigaon situated at Salakati in Kokrajhar said that bringing together interns engaged under the PMIS across the North-East, the event served as a platform for young participants to share their experiences and aspirations. As part of the exhibition walkthrough, Sitharaman and Sangma visited the NTPC stall, manned by interns and NTPC officials, which showcased immersive AR/VR modules designed to familiarize students with power plant operations, a step reflecting NTPC's commitment to advanced skill-building.

She acknowledged the valuable role played by PSUs like NTPC in mentoring interns with modern tools and real-time exposure.
