Five persons test positive for COVID-19 in Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: Five more COVID-19 patients were detected in Lakhimpur on Sunday.

They have been identified as Utpal Doley (22) of Tamar Gaon, Nityananda Borah (21) of Balipothar, Bihpuriya, Arun Borborah (25) of Satakpur, Lilabari, Pabitra Hazarika (34) of Burhaburhi, Narayanpur and his three-year old son Suvit Hazarika. They are also returnees from other States.

Utpal Doley returned home from Tilak Nagar, Mumbai and he reached Lakhimpur on May 22. Nityananda Borah came back home from his workplace in Bengaluru and arrived in Lakhimpur by train on May 21. Arun Borah came from his workplace in Haryana by bus via Delhi to Guwahati and arrived in Lakhimpur on May 21. All of them were quarantined at quarantine facility set up at OPD College and later they were shifted to Hotel Nandikeswar of North Lakhimpur town.

On the other hand, Pabitra Hazarika returned home by flight from a COVID -19 hotspot in New Delhi along with his son and wife. There he worked in a hotel. They arrived in Lakhimpur on June 2 via Dibrugarh Mohanbari Airport.

However, the swab sample of Pabitra Hazarika's wife tested negative for coronavirus. The former three patients were already admitted in Dedicated COVID Health Centre of Lakhimpur set up at Telahi Model Hospital after their swab test results were reported positive for coronavirus. On the other hand, Pabitra Hazarika, his son Suvit Hazarika and his wife were admitted in the isolation ward of Boginadi Model Hospital. The family members of the father-in-law of Pabitra Hazarika, who came in their contact, were already quarantined.
