GOALPARA: With the rising trend of the River Brahmaputra and after the breach of the Chilarbhita embankment, the flood situation remains very critical in Jaleswar constituency. About 44 villages have been severely affected under the Lakhipur revenue circle and people have taken shelter in safer places. Some of the worse affected villages of Jaleswar constituency are Chilarbhita, Rajmita, Ghugudoba, Kathuri, Takimari, Tarangapur, Khalisarbhita, Kolabari, Basmura and Hatimura. People have appealed to the district administration for all kinds of help and support.
