BISWANATH CHARIALI: On the occasion of the 92nd birth anniversary of former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam, popular lectures on science and hands-on programmes were held under the initiative of Akash Science and Environment Education Centre at Biswanath Chariali on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Kshirdhar Baruah, founder president of Akash Science and Environment Education Centre, said, “As a child, the flying technique of seabirds attracted APJ Abdul Kalam so much that his life’s goal was inspired to study flying science. Apart from being a president, he also served as a guiding light for the youth. He single-handedly did a lot of work to make the Indian youth an asset.” Baruah also told the students from different schools of Biswanath Chariali about APJ Abdul Kalam’s contribution to the field of science through audio-visual aids.
Science teachers Bidyadhar Tripathi, Mamud Ahmed, Preeti Baruah etc. were present at the meeting which was moderated by Ripunjoy Bordoloi, secretary of Akash Science and Environment Education Centre. After the popular lecture, practical lessons of Boyle’s Law, Passel’s Law, Archimedes’ Law, Burnley’s Law, Cartesian Plungus etc. were presented among the students. The parents present in the programme highly appreciated the practical education provided to the students by the Akash Science and Environment Education Centre with low cost waste materials.
