ORANG: In a significant move towards boosting educational infrastructure in rural Assam, the foundation stone of Shuklai Nehru Memorial High School was laid on Friday by the Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, Biswajit Daimary, at Shuklai in Udalguri district. The school will be constructed under the DIDF XXX (2024–25) scheme, aiming to enhance academic access for students in the remote region.
Addressing the gathering during the foundation stone-laying ceremony, Speaker Daimary emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector, especially in tribal and underserved areas. He expressed hope that the new institution would open up new horizons for the youth of the locality.
The occasion witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including renowned social worker Joushrang Boro, community leader Fatik Kachari, educationist Kamal Medhi, alongside teachers, students, and respected citizens of the area.
In his speech, the Speaker conveyed his appreciation to the community for their support and collaboration in the development journey. He wished the students a bright and successful future, highlighting that education was the key to empowerment and social transformation. The event marked a hopeful beginning for Shuklai’s academic landscape and reflected the growing focus on inclusive education in Assam.
