DEMOW: A robbery incident took place in Debpur Gaon near Demow on July 31 in the residence of Pabitra Kalita and Sarju Kalita, both teachers. The miscreants had robbed in the name of ULFA (I). They took away cash and gold ornaments.
After the incident, the police launched an investigation. According to sources, a team led by the Additional Superintendent of Police of Sivasagar district and a Demow Police team conducted search operation in various places of Demow on Tuesday night and apprehended the four miscreants.
A red Swift car (AS 04 AE 8848) which was used by the gang was seized by police. The apprehended dacoits are Amar Kalita of Demow Gajali, Jiba Gogoi of Demow Maskara, Sumendra Barua and Mintu Chetia of Demow Barua Changmai.
