BISWANATH CHARIALI: The graduate teachers of primary schools have expressed strong resentment against the alleged injustice done to the teachers by cutting the grade pay and giving them Rs 7,400 instead.

At a meeting chaired by Niranjan Hazarika and held at Satsanga Primary School, Biswanath Chariali, the deprived teachers strongly protested against the grade pay cut of Rs 8,700 offered to primary graduate teachers in the Seventh Pay Commission in 2016.

The Biswanath district committee of the All Assam Primary Graduate Teachers’ Association unanimously decided to hold a teachers’ conference in the presence of lower primary teachers across Assam. The state leadership will be present in the conference. After this conference, there is every possibility of a strong protest against this deprivation shown by the government towards lower primary graduate teachers, the leadership of the Association claimed. In this respect, the meeting formed a 31-member strong committee with Lakshya Hazarika as president and Dhrubajyoti Saikia as general secretary.
