DHUBRI : A spacious guest house and toilet block constructed in the premises of Dhubri Harisava with fund of Rs. 10 lakh sanctioned under Assam Darshan Scheme of Government of Assam, was formally inaugurated by Dhubri Deputy Commissioner, Anbamuthan MP on Wednesday.
Speaking in the meeting organized on the occasion, Anbamuthan MP said that the both guest house and toilet block were well constructed and furnished.
"I thank the management committee of the Harisava for this work and will also extend all assistance from the administration's end if they ever approach me in future," Anbamuthan said.
The meeting was also addressed by Dhubri District Development Commissioner Kanta Das. The meeting was presided over by president of Dhubri Harisava, Sourendra Bhushan Roy.
Later talking to The Sentinel, Roy told that this was the oldest Sanatan Hindu Dharmasava in the town which came into being in the year 1887 and since then, besides performing puja round the year, also organizes many religious and cultural programmes regularly.
"We also involved in social activities and do a number of works, including sheltering pilgrims who come on the occasion of Ashokaustami Mela, and supply oxygen cylinders," Roy added.
