Guwahati: Dead Body of Woman Discovered in a Flat in Guwahati

The police team took custody of the dead body and sent the same for post-mortem.

GUWAHATI: The dead body of a young woman was discovered in a flat in Guwahati leading to people to worry about the safety of women in the city. The woman was found dead under mysterious conditions in an apartment in Guwahati.

According to reports, the owner of the flat in an apartment complex in the Six Mile locality of the city found a foul smell coming from his flat upon visiting. He informed the Dispur Police regarding the incident and discovered that dead body in a bedroom.

The dead body was found to belong to one Anju Dorjee of Bokajan in the Karbi Anglong district of the state. She was said to be around 25 years old and reportedly in a live-in relationship with one Mani Khan. According to the reports, Mani Khan remains missing and his mobile phones are switched off.

Less than a month back, a mutilated dead body was recovered from a drain in the Chandmari locality of Guwahati. The dead body was found in a sack but the identity has not been known. According to sources, the dead body was recovered from a drain near the Assam Engineering Institute located in Chandmari. Injury marks were noticed on the face and neck of the dead body, but the identity of the victim could not be ascertained.

And before that, the discovery of a dead body on the banks of the Brahmaputra at Uzanbazar in the city had shocked the local residents in the area. According to sources, the body was that of an as-yet-unidentified man whose age was estimated to be around 35 years. Local residents discovered the dead body on the muddy banks of the river. They informed the Latasil police about the corpse. The dead body was recovered and sent for post-mortem. It could not be ascertained whether the man had drowned in the river. The police said that the reason for death could be determined only after the post-mortem report arrived. Meanwhile, the Latasil police are focusing their efforts on trying to identify the dead man.
