The state of Assam has witnessed an alarming increase in road accidents in recent years. This surge in accidents has raised concerns among residents and authorities alike, as it poses a significant threat to public safety. Several factors contribute to this concerning trend. Firstly, the rapidly growing population in Assam has led to an increase in the number of vehicles on the roads, resulting in congested traffic conditions and decreased compliance with traffic rules.

Secondly, the inadequate infrastructure and maintenance of roads further exacerbate the problem. Potholes, inadequate street lighting, and poorly designed intersections contribute to an environment conducive to accidents. Additionally, reckless driving practices, such as overspeeding, drunk driving, and lack of adherence to traffic regulations, also contribute to the rise in road mishaps. The consequences of these accidents are devastating, resulting in injuries, fatalities, and damage to vehicles and property.

To address this issue, it is imperative for the government and relevant authorities to take immediate action by implementing stricter traffic regulations, improving road infrastructure, and launching rigorous awareness campaigns to promote responsible driving among the public. Only through combined efforts can we hope to curb the rising tide of road accidents in Assam, ensuring safer journeys for residents and visitors alike
