GOLAGHAT: The closing ceremony of the golden jubilee celebration of Hemprobha Borbora Girls' College has been held with three-day long programme from October 27 to October 29.
Hemprobha Borbora Girls' College observed its golden jubilee years with brief programme. For smooth conduct of the golden jubilee celebration programme, an organizing committee was formed with Pradip Kumar Saikia as president, Dr Nirala Buragohain, Dr Bipul Chandra Bhuyan, Bula Hazarika, Dr Bonti Rani Gogoi as working presidents, Dr Bulumoni Barua as chief secretary and Dr Sanjibani Hazarika, Dr Gokul Saikia, Prasanta Bora and Bitul Dutta as joint secretaries.
On the first day, the programme started with flag and smriti tarpan. On the second day, a cultural procession was taken out throughout the Golaghat town from the college premises. Several cultural groups took part in the cultural procession. Later, a discussion was held where Dr Jiten Hazarika of Dibrugarh University took part. In the evening, a cultural evening was held by the local artists.
On the third day, Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan and felicitation programme of former teachers, office staff and donors will be held. Later, an open session will be held under the presidentship of Pradip Kumar Saikia, president of the golden jubilee organizing committee, where ministers Ajanta Neog, Dr Ranuj Pegu, Keshab Mahanta and Atul Bora will be present.
