Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, praised Tuliram Ronghang, the chief executive member (CEM) of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, for his vision and leadership and denounced efforts to discredit him.
Ronghang is a “respected leader who rose from a humble Karbi village to become the CEM of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council,” according to CM Sarma's public announcement. He attributed the region's "unprecedented development, along with lasting peace and stability" to Ronghang's leadership.

Sarma also took a strong stance against those who were reportedly attempting to discredit Ronghang, implying that those responsible were connected to adversarial foreign powers. "The spirit of progress will not be dampened by attempts to discredit a leader of his stature, especially by those acting at the behest of hostile forces like Pakistan," he stated.
"The community remains united and fully committed to preserving the hard-earned peace and continuing their collective journey toward greater development," the Chief Minister said, reaffirming his faith in the people of Karbi Anglong.
