Guwahati: A huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from Panijani forest area of Kokrajhar district of Assam on Monday by the Kokrajhar Police.
Following information received, a team of police officers set out for a search operation in the forest areas of Panijani falling under the Tulshibil police station in Kokrajhar district. The police recovered a large cache of weapons, including two AK-47 rifles, from the area.
"Acting on a tip off today Kokrajhar Pol launched a search operation in Panijani part 2 jungle area under Tulshibil OP & recovered 2 nos AK 56 rifle, 3 nos AK 56 Magazines,2 nos.36 HE Grenade,2 nos Detonators,211 rounds AK ammunition", Kokrajhar District Police wrote in a tweet after seizing the arms and ammunition.
