NAHARKATIA: Based on a tip-off, the Excise department has conducted raids in various shops and hotels in Joypur on Friday. According to the Excise department, based on secret information, a raid operation was conducted in various shops and hotels at Birla Gate near Army Camp, Joypur on Friday. Two beer bottles, one 180 ml bottle of Whisky were seized from the custody of Mukesh Mahato. Three beer bottles from the custody of Ramsingar Bind were seized. The Excise department has already filed two cases under section 53(1)(a) of The Assam Excise Act and issued notices to the shop owners under 41 CrPC.
