Indian Army dedicates vocational centre for Tinsukia youths

GUWAHATI: Indian Army in its initiative to empower the locals has established a new Vocational Training Centre (VTC) at Mulukgaon in Tinsukia recently. The Indian Army in Upper Assam has established a number of VTC in remote locations. In a short span of time these centres have received an overwhelming response due to the popularity of courses offered for training and good career prospects.

Based on the positive response and request from the populace, the new VTC offers training in the field of tailoring and gardening. These courses are being conducted in collaboration with Assam Skill Development Mission and National Skill Development Corporation under various schemes of PMKVY. The locals of the remote village appreciated the initiative of the Indian Army and expressed their gratitude for providing impetus to entrepreneurship amongst the people of the region, stated a press release.
