TAMULPUR: International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction observed in Tamulpur district at Tamulpur Higher Secondary focusing on the theme ‘Fight Inequality for resilient future’.
The meeting was opened by Tamulpur Deputy Commissioner Bidyut Bikash Bhagwati to spread knowledge of Disaster Risk Reduction to the masses. In the meeting Kukila Gogoi, ADC, Runav Ramchiary, ADC, DDMA, Kabita Phangshu, Hitesh Baro, Arunima Kakati, AC, Chanda Singh, DPO, BEEO, Head masters, Teachers, CRC, Aapda Mitras, Fire Service Personnels and 1000 students were present.
The DPO in her speech encourages people to take action to break the cycle of disaster and growing inequality. She also spoke on Sendai Framework and its 7 targets. The mock drill exercises on Fire Safety and First Aids were demonstrated by AAPDA Mitra and Fire Personnel’s, stated a press release.
