International Human Rights Day was observed at Jorhat

The International Human Rights Day was observed by Save Children, the leading child rights organization on Friday here in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority, Jorhat.

JORHAT: The International Human Rights Day was observed by Save Children, the leading child rights organization on Friday here in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority, Jorhat.

An awareness programme was held on child rights and business principles in presence of small tea growers, tea garden community and social workers. Dr Aditi Smith Gogoi, Assistant Professor of Tea Husbandry and Technology, Assam Agriculture University, spoke about the importance of code of conduct for the small tea growers in Assam.

Prosanta Pratim Sarma, District Legal Services Authority, spoke about the child rights scenario. Rajen Borah, president of All Assam Small Tea Growers' Association, also spoke about various problems of small tea growers.
