From June 27 to July 5, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) Guwahati will host the yearly Jagannath Rath Yatra 2025, which will include a number of religious and cultural events throughout the city.
Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra will parade ceremoniously on chariots through the streets of Guwahati as part of the festival, which is one of the biggest Vaishnavite events in the area.
Starting at Khanapara's Research Gate on June 27, the Rath Yatra will go over prominent metropolitan routes such as APSC Point, the National Highway 37 Bypass service lane, and Tripura Road before arriving at the ISKCON Jagannath Temple Project site in Joyanagar.
On July 5, the Ulta Rath Yatra, or return procession, will begin from the grounds of the Jagannath Temple in Joyanagar. The celebrations will end when the chariot takes a different path, passing through Tripura Road, the NH-37 service lane, Khanapara Veterinary College, APSC Road, and lastly Kendriya Vidyalaya in Khanapara.
The ISKCON temple complex in Jayanagar will host a number of spiritual talks on the Bhagavata Katha over the days between the two processions, from June 28 to July 4. With daily addresses from devotees and spiritual leaders, the program seeks to disseminate the message of devotion, compassion, and spiritual enlightenment.
