Jagiroad Natya Gosthi to organize Drama Festival at Jagiroad Kalamandir

JAGIROAD: The Jagiroad Natya Gosthi will organize a three-day-long drama festival on November 6, 7 and 8 at Jagiroad Kalamandir premises. The Natya Gosthi president, a veteran dramatist Tarun Talukdar and Secretary Bimal Sarma, while addressing a press conference here said that the Natya Gosthi formed in the year 1981 has been performing many dramas at State and National level and received acclamations.

The Gosthi has been organizing drama festivals every year in the locality for expansion of drama culture. As such, this year also the drama festival is organized to boost the young generation towards the culture. According to the programme, on November 6 the festival will be inaugurated with a street play produced and directed by Tarun Talukdar and a seminar on future prospect of non commercial drama in the State. On November 7, drama Bande Mataram, produced and directed by Tarun Talukdar will be staged by Jagiroad Natya Gosthi. On November 8, drama Chorar, produced and directed by drama specialist Sitanath Lahkar will be staged by Samahar Gosthi of Guwahati. In this connection, a reception committee with Deba Bordoloi as president and Dipak Kalita and Abonty Kumar Bora as joint secretaries was formed. The reception committee has sought cooperation from all the people.
