NALBARI: Demonstrating its commitment to social responsibility, the Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University (KBVSASUN), Nalbari, in collaboration with Sanskrit Bharati, North Assam Region, has dispatched a volunteer team to assist flood-affected people in Upper Assam.
The team left from Nalbari on Thursday to undertake a two-day Shramdaan (voluntary labour) programme in the flood-ravaged areas of Sivasagar district, where severe flooding has disrupted the lives of countless residents. The volunteer mission is being led by the university's Vice-Chancellor, Prof Prahlad R Joshi.
During the two-day programme, the volunteers will participate in rehabilitation efforts, including cleaning and restoration work in the affected areas.
