TEZPUR: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sonitpur conducted an online training programme on 'Scientific cultivation of Summer Season Vegetable crops' on Saturday.
The Head, KVK, Sonitpur, Dr. Pramod Ch. Deka welcomed all the participants and briefed the participants about the objectives of the training programme and also explained how to cope with the present pandemic situation of COVID-19.
The training programme was hosted by Angana Sarmah, SMS (Horticulture), KVK, Sonitpur and discussed elaborately about scientific cultivation technologies of summer season vegetable crops and interacted with the farmers on various aspects of vegetable production. In her presentation on 'Scientific management of Summer season vegetable crops', Sanjukta Saikia, SMS, Plant protection, KVK discussed the pest-disease management practices of summer vegetable crops. Dr. Arifa Mumtaz Begum, SMS (Community Science), KVK, Sonitpur also delivered a power-point presentation on 'Post harvest management and value addition in vegetable crops'. A total of about 25 participants joined in the online training programme.
