BOKAKHAT: A new branch of the Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) was formed on Sunday at the culturally rich Kuruwabahi. The meeting convened for the formation of this branch was presided over by Muhiram Loinge, Vice-President of the Golaghat District Xahitya Xabha.
The session began with the rendition of the song ‘Chira Senehi Mor Bhasa Janani,’ followed by an explanation of the meeting’s purpose by Mamata Saikia. Detailing the objectives, functions, and constitutional norms of branch-level literary bodies, Golaghat District Xahitya Xabha’s Secretary Dulal Chandra Das delivered an in-depth explanation.
Among the notable speakers and attendees were district representative Jatin Nath, Vice-President of the Drama Convention sub-committee of AXX Naren Saikia, Convener of Golaghat District Kobi Sanmilan Kalpana Hati Baruah, President of Bokakhat Sub-divisional Journalists’ Association Bubul Dutta, prominent thinker and retired teacher Jiban Saikia, and Ankuron Xahitya Xabha’s Secretary Manas Jyoti Dutta, along with many respected literature enthusiasts of the region.
The Kuruwabahi Branch Xahitya Xabha was formed covering the entire Kuruwabahi region, with retired Headmaster Nakul Saikia appointed as President and noted bee-keeper and enthusiastic youth Papumoni Hazarika as Secretary.
