Labour Welfare Department’s latest mandate

Dibrugarh, June 20: As per the latest mandate of the State Labour Welfare Department, Executive Magistrates will be able to adjudicate cases in the districts that come under section 21 of the Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, 1976, and which were earlier heard by the first class and second class judicial magistrates. The District Magistrate, to effectuate the same, can select the Executive Magistrate, and vest him/her with the aforementioned judicial power.
