Lakhimpur police apprehended two fake gold smugglers

LAKHIMPUR: Lakhimpur police apprehended two notorious fake gold smugglers on Friday. As per report found from the police source, In-Charge of Naoboicha Police Outpost, Sub-Inspector Uttam Adhikari and a team police personnel nabbed the two fake gold smugglers on getting secret information. They were identified as Md. Riyajul Islam (22), son of Md Norshed Ali of Uttar Mohghuli under North Lakhimpur Police Station and Md Abdul Sattar (46), son of Abdul Mazid of Sonapur. They were nabbed while they were making a deal to cheat an innocent person named Dimbeswar Moran of Kosumari-Lukharokhon under the Moran Police Station of Sivasagar district.

During the search, a total amount of rupees 2,00,000 (two lakhs) was recovered from their possession. A case was registered against the nabbed smugglers at North Lakhimpur Police Station. Further investigation is going on.
