Assam: Land Survey Conducted to Restore Playground at Mothadang Village

A section of conscious people of No. 2 Chaulkora village and No. 2 Mothadang village have been trying to restore a 50-year-old playground on the banks of the Desang river at Mothadang village

SIVASAGAR: A section of conscious people of No. 2 Chaulkora village and No. 2 Mothadang village have been trying to restore a 50-year-old playground on the banks of the Desang river at Mothadang village no. 2 under Sivasagar Revenue Circle for long. The locals had appealed to the State Revenue Minister Jogen Mohan to take steps to rescue the playground from the clutches of encroachers and create an environment of sports in the area.

On the basis of the public appeal, minister Jogen Mohan had sent a directive to the Sivasagar Revenue Circle office to know more about the present status of the playground. Accordingly, on the direction of the minister a team of lot mandal and SK led by Chinmoy Smrita Chutia, Circle Officer (A), Sivasagar Revenue Circle, conducted a survey of the land recently. Prior to the survey of the land, a public meeting was held near Desang embankment in the presence of a section of people from both the villages. Senior journalist Manoj Kumar Gogoi, Sivasagar Zila Parishad president Dhrubajyoti Mout, Circle Officer (Attached) of Sivasagar Revenue Circle Chinmoy Smrita Chutia addressed the public meeting. Several prominent personalities like Lokendra Gogoi, Kiran Gogoi, Dilip Gogoi, Raju Gogoi and Ranjan Gogoi were present at the meeting. There is need for not only playgrounds, but also for auditoriums and cremation grounds in the area, the speakers demanded in unison.
