DHEKIAJULI: In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020’s focus on vocational training, interdisciplinary learning, and research exposure at the undergraduate level, students from the Arts and Commerce streams of LOKD College, Dhekiajuli, have been actively participating in an internship programme at Askaran Binjraj Pvt Ltd. The programme, which began in the first week of July 2025, concluded successfully for one of the student batches on Thursday. A formal function was held at the Askaran Binjraj Pvt Ltd complex to commemorate the completion of the internship by a group of 20 students. The event was graced by several distinguished guests including Assistant Commissioner of Dhekiajuli Co-District, Shristi Kalita, ACS, Principal of LOKD College Dr Sukdev Adhikari, Dr Pradip Lahkar, Managing Director of Nemcare Hospital Tezpur, Chandan Mol Bothra, Bikram Bothra, and other esteemed members of the Ajkaran family.
In a heartwarming gesture, all invited guests were honoured with traditional phulam gamochas by the organizers. Addressing the gathering, Dr Sukdev Adhikari, Principal of LOKD College, lauded Askaran Binjraj Pvt Ltd for its commendable initiative in shaping society through skill-based learning and corporate-social collaboration. He highlighted the crucial role such programmes play in the all-round development of Dhekiajuli co-district and the nation at large.
Dr Pradip Lahkar of Nemcare Hospital appreciated the initiative and expressed his willingness to host similar internship opportunities at his institution in the near future. Speaking to the interns, Chandan Mol Bothra emphasized the importance of self-confidence in achieving success and advised the students not to fear starting small. Bikram Bothra, Managing Director of Askaran Binjraj Pvt Ltd, shared his inspiring journey and life lessons. He also received applause for recently being invited to the BRICS Convocation in Brazil as a representative from the North East in a matter of great pride for Assam and the entire North Eastern region.
