Man arrested in Baksa for alleged Inflammatory Post on Facebook

Baksa: A person was arrested in Borbori area under Baksa district for his alleged inflammatory and provocative post on Assamese people in the state.

The person identified as Uttam Baishya had posted some inflammatory and provocative message claiming the people of Assam as ‘Foreigners’ on October 24.

The alleged inflammatory post against the people of Assam went viral led to an uproar among the Baganpara Anchalik Chatra Sanstha.

Following the incident, a case was registered against the youth in Borbari Police Station. Based on the complaint a team of Borbari Police Station visited his residence to arrest him, but, he managed to escape from the spot.

Interestingly, on Thursday, Uttam Borah surrendered himself before the Borbari police and confessed about his alleged Facebook post.

Uttam Borah is under police custody now. Further investigations are on.
